When trying beats studying.
An idea can sound great on paper. Whether it actually works is another story. At the AI Hackathon, that’s exactly what we find out: A defined team, a fixed timeframe, the client right in the center of it all – and a few days later, a working core.AI Hackathon
Our approach? Completely different.
A traditional software project first needs to know where it's headed: requirements are defined, concepts are written, and possibilities are evaluated. At the AI Hackathon, however, we start differently. First, there's an idea — probably a pretty good one. No one knows whether it will work technically, or what it can become, so, we try it out. We start with what we have, and build an initial prototype within a few days. It's not yet "production-ready," but it's concrete enough to answer the crucial questions: Does it even work? Where are the sticking points? What's needed to develop it further? Now, what was previously a vague idea has suddenly become very concrete. You can experiment, demonstrate, and test it. It’s so much better than mere theory.

Our AI hackathons take place within a clearly defined timeframe. A few intensive days of experimenting, discarding ideas, refining, and building further. Whatever doesn't work gets eliminated. What shows potential is pursued further. The client is right there with us, involved as part of the development team. Instead of lengthy discussions about how something is intended, we engage in direct communication and decide together, on-site, what happens next. This direct exchange is especially crucial when it comes to new ideas. After all, no one understands needs better than the client. There is no purpose in working quickly if headed in the wrong direction. Considering these days anyone can write a few prompts and test out an idea using AI, our AI hackathons go a crucial step further: the idea is paired with a team of experts who know how to transform it into truly viable software. We provide a structured framework for the hackathon and bring all the necessary tools and development infrastructure with us. This turns a few days of experimentation into real development work.
AI is picking up the pace. That works perfectly here.
The fact that so much can be created in just a few days is, of course, thanks to AI. It helps us write code, try out variations, and bring ideas to life on screen with astonishing speed. It's the perfect tool in early phases. Perfect code, on the other hand, is secondary. It doesn't yet need to work for thousands of users, or last the next ten years. Its purpose is different: to make the idea tangible. The output is used to form the foundation for further development. At this point, we've explored the idea, clarified technical questions, and tested various versions. This gives us a much clearer understanding of what the final solution needs to be capable of. We build on that. Rapid AI code is cleaned, evolving into maintainable "human code"—with the architecture, security, and care that a productive solution requires. The hackathon is therefore not a detour on the path to the right software; it is the foundation.
And in the end? What's next?
At the end of the AI Hackathon, there isn’t a finished application. At this stage, what's on the table instead is often much more valuable: a functional prototype and clarity about whether and how to proceed. Together, we'll take a look at what's been created, figure out what works, where the limitations are, what surprises us, and collect insights for concrete further development. Perhaps after reflecting, the answer is to keep going. Perhaps the original idea has changed along the way. Or maybe the AI Hackathon shows us that it’s better for the shelve for idea for now. That, too, is a good outcome. Before investing months in an idea, it can be quite wise to give it a few days to see where it leads.
